Preparations are in full gear ahead of the new campaign and Coach Ayo Filani is already looking forward to the upcoming season.

One game at a time – says Coach Ayo ahead of new season

In an interview with coach Ayo Filani, he revealed how preparations have been so far and also shared his thoughts on the groupings and the opponents ahead of the new campaign.

β€œWe are presently in Ibadan for the two-week preseason spree which will help us remind some of our old legs about our philosophy, as well as to imbibe the new additions to know the culture and style of play”, he said.

He continued: “The groupings is fair enough, the venue is fine as well, in fact we used it as our home stuff last two season, it is not a strange venue to our players and we should be able to do well. Although we would have preferred going back to normal format of home and away instead of this one-leg format.”

“We were in same group with Ablaze last season, we had the better of them in a 2-1 win, picking the first 3 points of last season. But for other teams, they are familiar teams that we have played at some point in a practice match apart from Magic Stars, who we played in our maiden FA Cup game that we lost 2-1 last two season – I am looking forward to our boys playing them again. In the end, every opponents is important, we take the game one at a time and hopefully we come out in flying colors.”

As at the time of writing, the new season kick starts on the 13th of April and our games will be played at the Legacy pitch, surulere Lagos.
