Fowoshade Al Amin made his mark in a disappointing loss as we wrap up the season with a 2-1 loss to Dannaz football club despite a man advantage at the Legacy pitch on Friday.

Dannaz opened the scoring as early as the sixth minute, and Lekki United pushed to level terms. A well-struck ball by Michael was blocked by the defender, which seem like the team’s biggest chance in the first half as the defender gave his all to prevent the equalizer.

However, the equalizer finally came in the 43rd minute when Al Amin beautifully struck the ball past the goalkeeper to level the score before the break. Al Amin get his first goal of the season as he make his mark count. The second half began with Lekki United dominating possession and creating chances to take the lead for the first time in the game.

A big chance fell to Okorie John when the ball found him in good space in the box, but his resulting shot was weak, allowing the goalkeeper to make a save. Dannaz had their fair share of possession after an hour of football and capitalized on a mistake on the left-hand side.

The winger struck what could have been a cross into an empty net, leaving Lekki United’s goalkeeper, Samson, confused.Despite the efforts, Lekki United’s performance wasn’t enough, and they fell to their third defeat of the season as the referee signaled the full-time whistle.

Al Amin has been a standout player for us this season, he has had incredible season balancing defence and attack.
